I was the girl who never outgrew my love of all things horsey. My first pony came along when I was 10 years old, followed by riding lessons on American Saddlebreds. I was a member of the Virginia state 4-H horse judging team that won the national championship, and I previously held an open horse show judge's card. I've enjoyed showing my own Saddlebred and Hackney ponies, as well as carriage driving. Several years before retirement from my career in public education, I began my equine photography business. We live 15 minutes from The Virginia Horse Center with our Hackney pony pasture ornaments.

I am a professional member of The Equine Photographers' Network, and have studied with noted horse photographers, including Gabriele Boiselle, Carien Schippers, Shelley Paulson, Scott Trees and Sherron Sheppard.
I have been the official photographer for multibreed horse shows and my works have appeared in publications promoting Arabians, Quarter Horses, Lipizzaners, Connemaras, Percherons, Saddlebreds, Hackneys, Dressage, Baroque and Walking Horses. I've had my photos published in calendars that promoted the Virginia Horse Industry to the General Assembly, and my photos were included in and on the covers of The Virginia Horse Center's annual reports. I still do limited private dog and horse portrait sessions each year; however, my passion is producing images that look like oil paintings, charcoal sketches and other artistic impressions.
